Be Still My Heart

When we decided to go ahead and start a theater, Zeb and I had a long discussion about it. How it would take time and energy away from him and Jesse, and was he really sure he wanted to make that sacrifice. He was adamant. Which has pretty well remained, since any day I tell him it's a theater day, he cheers.
Last week at Open Gym we were putting on our shoes to go to gymnastics and taking Winston with us. I'd been handing out cards to everyone and suddenly Zeb said, with some alarm, "Mom, the card!" I told him I'd already given Win's mom one but handed him one to give to Win himself. Zeb leaned in to him and said, "Winston. This is a play and you might get to go to it." No reaction from Win. Zeb looks in my direction and says dramatically, "And she did it. SHE did! SHE's the Director!" Winston had absolutely no reaction at all which did nothing to curb Zeb's enthusiasm.
A couple days later, in the car, he said to me, "Mom, remember when you had to pick me up early at piano cause we had to go to the theater? Well, I told Mr Seth that we had to go because of dress rehearsal. And he wanted to know if you were the stage - uh - stage..."
"Stage manager?"
"Yeah, that. And I told him, no. You're the director."
"Oh yeah? What did he say?"
"He said, Ohhhhh. I told him our company is Mudlark Theater Company and he said he never heard of it."
